As you must know by now, yesterday was open mike night (or day) at the G8, only the two people who weren’t in on the joke were President Bush and P.M. Tony Blair. (We heard somewhere that Bush’s public utterance of that word that sounds a lot like Shi’ite was the top video online yesterday.) Anyway, the incident left us feeling nostalgic, not, as you might suspect, for other times when top politicians got caught in the open mike game, but for the "Read My Lips" video, a touching tribute—with Tony Blair in the role of Diana Ross and Dubya as Lionel Richie—of the relationship between Bush and Blair.
