A tasteless line, even for hard-core
The marketing effort for the latest CD from Montreal hard-core band A Perfect Murder carries this line: “Pantera is gone. Metallica is old.” Say what you will about Metallica being ancient in their 40s. But the Pantera comment is harsh, given that former guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott was shot to death on stage in December while performing in Columbus, Ohio, with his band Damageplan. Even though Pantera broke up before Abbott was killed, his death is still pretty raw. Couldn’t these guys have come up with a better line?
