Soon, the World Will Be One Giant Touchscreen Projection devices now in early development

One of the coolest things about Aatma Studio's drool-inducing concept version of the iPhone 5, which we posted back in August, was the laser keyboard—the idea that one day, we'll be able to interact with our devices on any surface, not on the devices themselves. Well, the concept isn't science fiction—it's already in early development. Check out the video below from Chris Harrison, a Ph.D. student in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University who specializes in interfaces. It introduces OmniTouch, which allows you to project interactive touchscreens on nearby surfaces (even on your own arm). The shoulder-mounted, depth-sensing camera/projector is a little bulky, but surely that will eventually be miniaturized into a little sticker for your forehead or something. Via Co. Design.
