Showbiz booty call opens door for comeback
Back when I was sporting a rat tail and a Member’s Only jacket (hey, at least I was only 7), the ultimate destination to flaunt my 1980s style was Showbiz Pizza Place. I could live every kid’s dream: Eating cardboard-tasting pizza and dropping 90 quarters into Zaxxon. Although Showbiz won its epic war against the forces of Chuck-E-Cheese, it proved to be a Pyrrhic victory, as all Showbiz outlets eventually took the name of their former competitor. But I believe Showbiz is ripe for a retro-fueled comeback. And as this incredible video shows, Billy Bob and his animatronic band could easily appeal to a new generation. (Click here for several more examples.) Maybe Dave & Buster’s should buy up The Rock-afire Explosion as an adults-only floor show. Via Engadget.
