Ronald vs. Moses, the pay-per-view special

Mcdonaldmoses So, the takeaway I get from this press release, which suggests that more Americans know the ingredients in a Big Mac than know the Ten Commandments, is not that America is in such dire straits morally. Rather, I think God needs a snappier jingle. I mean who can’t—upon hearing it just once—repeat the iconic Big Mac song? “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun” just rolls off the tongue better than “Covet not thy neighbor’s wife, while honoring thy father and mother. And don’t kill.” (Though if you add a “Yo!” at the end, it could make for a better rap.) In fact, the most surprising thing about this release is that anyone under 30 would know the ingredients of a Big Mac. That jingle hasn’t been used for at least a decade (probably two). Shows how lasting a catchy idea can be.
