Wicked Lasers is narrowly avoiding a cease and desist from LucasFilm with its LaserSabers, which come in two varieties (Krypton and Arctic) and are powered by a magnetic gravity system that can raise or lower the beam as needed. The company claims its LaserSabers have real-world applications beyond awkward bathrobe duels, but what does one do with "pure laser power" once it's harnessed? Carve meat? Cut poster and/or book board? Slice watermelon? I feel like a real Jedi would have addressed this stuff early on.
