A proposal: Polite notes for perilous times
It's a hard time to laugh about the state of the advertising industry, much less the economy as a whole. But let's face it, we're in an industry where dark humor is never in short supply. The seeming randomness and emotional toll of recent layoffs have led our friend Leigh "Advergirl" Householder to (satirically, of course) propose a new line of greeting cards for an economy gone sour. "Lots of awkward new interactions seem to call for more grace than most of us can muster under this kind of stress," she writes. So whether you've survived the cuts or found yourself updating your résumé, she's probably got a card for you. And it goes without saying that the folks at someecards.com have their own options for respectful correspondence.
