Nike and LeBron find themselves down 2-0

Lebron “We are all witnesses,” says the new LeBron James commercial from Nike, a special order for the NBA Finals, set to Marion Williams’ version of “I Shall Be Released.” Unfortunately for LeBron, we may be witnesses to a sweep by the Spurs, particularly if James continues to pick up early fouls and ends up “oxidizing on the bench” (in the words of the Cleveland Plain Dealer) for long stretches. In The Wall Street Journal this morning, Nike’s Adam Roth says the campaign is about “making sure that LeBron and Nike basketball are leading the conversation at a pivotal moment in the NBA.” But Adidas, with its teamwork campaign, may have the better chance of winning.
