New Mexico certainly not underselling itself
New Mexico has unveiled a new tourism campaign with the humble tagline “The best place in the universe.” Two TV commercials by M&C Saatchi, posted on the Web site, feature scaly, wise-cracking creatures who may bear a passing resemblance to the state’s sun-loving elderly but who are actually aliens from a far-off land (not Mexico) who’ve heard about the wonders of New Mexico and decided to visit. There’s also a behind-the-scenes making-of video. The aliens are maybe a bit reminiscent of Microsoft’s dinosaurs, but the commercials are humorous enough. And of course New Mexico has a bit of history when it comes to visitors from space.
