More proof that sex sells

Apple1The members of a German Protestant youth group have found a way to combine their moral devotion to the Bible with their hormonal devotion to sex. You can see some of the racy, but, religious images here (CAUTION: May not be suitable for work viewing), but you can't order one of the calendars they're appearing on. They are sold out. The 2006 calendar features 12 erotic scenes from the Bible. One shows a nude Delilah cutting Sampson’s hair. Another shows a nude Eve offering an apple (click on the "Kalendar" link on the site to see it). Yet another shows a woman in garters and stockings on a doorstep posing as the Biblical prostitute Rahab, who is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments. Anne Rohmer, 21, who posed as Rahab, told Reuters she did not see any conflict between her faith and her public nudity.  “We wanted to represent the Bible in a different way and to interest young people,” she said. “Anyway, it doesn’t say anywhere in the Bible that you are forbidden to show yourself nude.” It’s difficult to imagine that young Christians ponder the Trinity when looking at the calendar. Even more disturbing than a youth group peddling eroticism as a fundraiser is the disclaimer on the calendar that some of the women are under the age of 18.
