Mella got up on the wrong side of the rock

Caveletter Man, first Don Imus confirms his total ignorance of racial niceties, and now this: a letter to the editor of the Virginian-Pilot damning the Geico caveman ads for stoking the prejudicial fires. “People fought long and hard in the civil rights movement,” says Mella, “and these commercials are a slap in the face. ... It takes little imagination to hear other names substituted for ‘cavemen’ in these commercials.” Uh, yeah, it does. In any case, this letter will be nothing compared to the tome Mella will write in her own blood when the sitcom premieres.
