Macy's Mistakenly Congratulates Miami Heat in Newspaper Ads
What's up with Macy's always congratulating the wrong team after a championship? It happened for the second time in two years today, as the department store ran ads in the Miami Herald applauding the Miami Heat for winning the NBA Finals. Of course, Miami lost the series to the Dallas Mavericks. Macy's did almost the exact same thing in Philadelphia in 2009, placing ads in the Inquirer congratulating the Phillies on their World Series title—a series won by the New York Yankees. The retailer deeply regretted the mistake last time. Do they deeply, deeply regret it this time? Full ad after the jump. Hat tip: @ToddWasserman. Via Romenesko.
