Linda McMahon ad deals with her WWE past
Since Linda McMahon's connection to professional wrestling—her husband is Vince McMahon—is the only thing that sets her apart from every other whitebread Republican Senate candidate, it was only a matter of time before someone brought it up. Democrats in Connecticut have been trying to associate her with WWE drug and steroid scandals, so Linda fired back in this ad, wherein she shows footage of WWE wrestlers and admits her time there was "maybe not a regular job." From there, she segues into her economic ideas, nearly all of which revolve around cutting spending. Which sounds fine, until you consider that she's spending millions to make sure no living resident of Connecticut can escape this ad. And while a past in the carny wrestling business isn't really how most politicians made their money, lobbyists and corporate lawyers don't have people like Vince readily available to ruin their political ambitions.
