LG vanquishes Godzilla in spot for 3-D TVs

LG

This extremely well-made ad for LG 3-D TVs is probably too busy for its own good, despite a wealth of fun details that really pop out (hi-yo!) on repeat viewings. The campy costumed parodies are on target, and include a send-up of Godzilla-type horror flicks and a nature program with a silly "predator" leaping onto the back of its "prey." The editing, acting and overall design are great, but the action goes by a bit too fast for one to catch everything—including the brand message—the first time around. Also, the framing gag about the rare-butterfly collection seems random and, counter to the spirit of 3-D technology, falls flat.
