Levi Johnston hawks pistachios in ad debut

Literally anyone who achieves a certain level of notoriety in this country has a shot at getting an endorsement deal. The latest example: the ad above for Paramount Farms' so-called Wonderful Pistachios, starring Levi Johnston, the former fiancé of Bristol Palin and the father of her child. You know it's a mercenary deal when the company ridicules the spokeman in the press release. ("Hold on to your daughters," says the e-mailed pitch. "Palin 'Baby-Daddy' Levi Johnson [sic] is making his television commercial debut today as part of Wonderful Pistachio's [sic] 'Get Crackin' campaign.") The ad says Johnston "does it with protection," which doesn't make much sense until you see other spots from the campaign, with various D-listers showing how they crack open pistachios. The spot with Christopher Knight and Adrianne Curry is posted below.
