Thanks to corporate sponsorships, the nomenclature of
college-football bowl games now mostly ranges from the mildly silly to the
extremely silly. For instance, just-plain Orange Bowl sounds better than FedEx
Orange Bowl
, but the new title manages not to sound ridiculous—unlike, say, the
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl or the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. But we defy—defy!—our
readers to find a bowl-game name that sounds more tongue-twistingly clumsy than
the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
