A kinder, gentler New Jersey

Sopranos3Maybe it’s a result of damage done by The Sopranos, but New Jersey may soon get an image makeover, as two assemblymen are pushing legislation that would start a civility and kindness campaign in the Garden State. Perhaps what the angry and ill-mannered folks of New Jersey need is to take a field trip to witness the refined conduct of the people in Charleston, S.C., recently named the most polite city in the U.S. Or the governor could bring in a planeload of characters from the world’s friendliest city, Rio de Janeiro, to give lessons on how to be kind to strangers and play nice. We see some endorsement opportunities, too. How about a free copy of Emily Post’s Etiquette for every New Jersey resident? It’s just a thought.
