Hope your target knows its 'Fantasy Island'

Vanish

We've already noted the sad passing of Ricardo Montalban and praised his sublime—heck, some of us are secure enough to just say it: his sexy—voiceovers for the 1975 Chrysler Cordoba. Last month, an agency called Marked for Trade in Charlotte, N.C., crafted this print ad for a tattoo-removal company, featuring Montalban as Mr. Roarke from Fantasy Island. Will the current generation even get the joke here? (The joke is that Mr. Roarke was always seen on the show standing next to Tattoo, played by Herve Villechaize, who's been Photoshopped out—i.e., Tattoo's been removed.) While we're on the subject of ancient history, here's Herve in an old Dunkin' Donuts spot starring yet another dead guy, Michael Vale, as Fred the Baker. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get this tattoo of the AdFreak face removed from my ... well, let's just say I remember nothing from Saturday night.
