Hadrian’s Wall celebrates 5 years in style

Hadrian_1When Crispin Porter + Boguksy won the Kelly Award a few years back, the whole staff was treated to a Bahamas vacation. So what exactly did Hadrian’s Wall win that merits a trip to Rome for five days? Apparently, just staying in business for five years is winning enough. All eight full-time staffers at the Chicago shop, which visited Hadrian’s Wall in the U.K. on its first anniversary, headed to the old country this week to visit Hadrian’s Temple, Hadrian’s Tomb, Hadrian’s Palace and the Hadrian-built Pantheon. “Our company’s goal is to create a culture that makes our employees’ friends jealous,” says managing partner and planner Steve Carli. The agency is providing live updates of the trip on its Web site (this is the staff on their flight this morning). We’re still not convinced this will alleviate the shop’s recent inferiority complex.
