Groundhog Day videos cast a shadow
We finally got around to watching this Groundhog 202 viral campaign, a spoof of The Shining created by the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. A blurb on the site explains: “Harboring an acute case of cabin fever and with the weight of the world’s winter resting solely on his shoulders, the great father of all marmota slowly goes mad.” Maybe we shouldn’t compare these videos to the happy Shining trailer from last year, but they are a bit of a bore. (It also doesn’t help that this site has been up for weeks and yet there’s still a glaring typo in the browser bar at the top. Grounghog?) The site will present new videos through Groundhog Day itself on Feb. 2.
