Google, arbiter of all things, points east for advertising

Google_5For those of you who thought Dave Banerjee was just raising Cain when he appeared on CNN last year, talking about outsourcing ad jobs to India, take a closer look at Google Trends. The new feature shows that the part of the world most actively searching the word “advertising” is India, sandwiching New York between the hardworking hands of Mumbai and Delhi. Los Angeles and Chicago make an appearance in the bottom three, but only after Australian and U.K. entries. Does it mean you’ll soon be out of a job? Probably not, but apparently there’s more than a few people in India interested in it.
