'Ghost Recon' ad glimpses the future of war

Ghost-recon

Here's a pretty incredible live-action trailer for the Tom Clancy collection's newest video game, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Thanks largely to the marketing for Halo 3 and Halo: ODST, cinematic spots featuring real people have become the new gold standard for epic game previews. The downside is that you usually don't even get a peek at the actual gameplay — or worse, game footage is sprinkled in haphazardly, destroying the realism of a cinematic trailer. Thankfully, this Ghost Recon ad walks a fine line by putting real actors in situations that give you a good feel for the game's gadgets and missions without sacrificing the storytelling. It was directed by Ben Mor of Little Minx/RSA, with visual effects by Asylum.
