Gap holiday commercial has Common touch
So Gap unveiled its new holiday ad yesterday, but
there’s not a Christmas tree (or even red or green) in sight. Instead, it’s a rap performed by Common,
which is very much in the peace, love and grooviness vein, and sells the Gap
hoodie as much as anything. It’s quite watchable, especially compared with
that excruciating Audrey Hepburn-AC/DC debacle (not that I have an opinion on
that ad or anything). To see this new spot, far as I can tell, you have to go to
the Gap site. So far, it’s not posted on YouTube. There’s also a print campaign featuring various and sundry celebrities, but so far, not Baby Jake.
