Forever 21 Appeals to Girls Who Are 'Allergic to Algebra' Another day, another questionable T-shirt

Forever 21 is whizzing on the same electric fence that JCPenney did by selling a T-shirt that tells girls it ain't cool to be smart. While Penney's shirt advised girls to avoid schoolwork completely ("I'm too pretty to do homework so my brother has to do it for me"), Forever 21 has a beef with math in particular—the shirt reads, "Allergic to Algebra." Styleite notes the irony of selling this shirt alongside Ivy League-branded college apparel. Plus, there's the issue of telling other people via your clothing that you're an idiot. Like Penney, Forever 21 appears to have yanked the offending shirt from its online store. At this point, I'm waiting for Abercrombie & Fitch to put out an "I Don't Like to Read" shirt, paired with fragrances that smell like Milwaukee's Best and pot smoke.
