News aggregator Digg took some lumps after banning users for posting a numerical code for decrypting copy-protected high-definition DVDs. “Chesterjosiah” first posted the code, which Digg promptly deleted. Chet reposted it, along with some digs at Digg, and the story quickly garnered 15,000 “diggs,” or votes, before the site canceled Chester’s account. All of a sudden, Digg was rife with more posts revealing the code. Ultimately, Digg relented: “You’ve made it clear. You’d rather see Digg go down fighting.
