Children's Television Is a Whole Lot More Tragic in France
DDB Paris created this lovely animated spot called "Colours" for TiJi TV, a French children's television network. In it, we see a child's explanation for why panda bears are black and white. Poor panda, he slept in late on the day the world was colored. It's a charming story with a delightful though sad ending. The animation was created by Akama Studios. It seems this is DDB's first spot for TiJi since 2008 when the agency created a similarly whimsical spot called "Balloon" (posted after the jump), in which a child imagines what happens to her balloon when she lets go of the string. Given that both videos are more than two minutes long, I'm going to guess children in France have longer attention spans than their American counterparts. And more of an appetite for melancholy, too.
