Check out Tina Fey's drab debut in 1995 ad

Tina fey first commercial

It would almost be better if, like her 30 Rock persona, Tina Fey's commercial debut had been in a low-budget sex-line ad. Because at least that would merit a laugh, unlike the stunningly drab bank spot below, which helped launch Fey's screen career. "In 1995, we cast a terrific young Second City cast member for this spot," writes Purple Onion Films in the video description. "It was her first commercial. She was very nice, very nervous, and very funny." Well, the nervous part definitely comes through. But maybe the reason she couldn't get comfortable was because they were filming a bank commercial in what appears to be either an abandoned warehouse or Lisa Loeb's apartment. Via PopWatch.
