Canada overcome by celeb spokesbeavers

Beavers Canada may be starved for proper celebrities, judging by the popularity of Frank and Gordon, the animated spokesbeavers who have been promoting Bell Canada since the winter. “A recent poll by a Canadian radio station found that 89 percent of the country’s citizens wanted to see more of the furry rodents, making them Canada’s most popular celebrities,” according to one account. The beavers were created by Buzz Image Group and Cossette Communication Group; check out their Web site here and a sample 30-second commercial here. Canadians are prone to giving spokesanimals a higher place in the food chain than they might deserve. The last one that inspired a nationwide love affair was Telus’ hippopotamus.
