A Barbra Streisand song you can stomach
It’s fairly standard practice nowadays to turn pop divas’ hits into brainless dance music. Madonna, Cher, even Paris Hilton have been fitted to generic rhythm tracks in the hopes of shaking a few money makers. So, when genuine creativity thrown into the mix (no pun intended), it’s worth noting. Such is the case with Barbara Streisand’s newest club number, “Shut the Fuck Up,” an artful remix of the skeletal martinet’s well-publicized outburst at a New York City concert. The song isn’t bad by techno standards. I hope Dick Cheney is the B-side.
