Apple saving Joey Cheek from obscurity

JoeycheekWho says Olympic fame is fleeting? Joey Cheek has his own iTunes celebrity playlist! And it’s not bad. Aerosmith, the Doobie Brothers, Death Cab for Cutie, Elliott Smith, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. Explaining why he chose three Pearl Jam songs, the Fastest Cheeks on Ice writes, “You know how some people got stuck in the ’70s and still have a mullet and drive a Firebird? Well, I got stuck in the ’90s.” There’s no update on Cheek’s status as a potential commercial endorser. A few weeks ago, it was reported that he was close to signing deals with a company in North Carolina and one in Chicago.
