British companies, not satisfied with paying people to eat junk food and watch TV, are now paying them to sleep. Retail chain Halfords has placed an ad looking for a sleeping-bag tester to evaluate its sleeping bags "in terms of warmth, strength and longevity." The position pays £600 for five days of snoozing. "This is the age of peer-to-peer recommendation, and the best person to talk about the merits of a sleeping bag is someone who has spent the night sleeping in it," Halfords outdoor leisure expert Oliver Pinders says.
