Like it or not, Easter is largely a holiday about chocolate. The candy enjoys its second-largest sales spike of the year around this time, after Halloween, and Americans eat more than 70 million pounds of chocolate during the Easter season, according to a 2009 Nielsen report. (Pope Benedict XVI himself got a 550-pound, 7-foot-tall chocolate Easter egg from Italian chocolatier Tosca this year. He regifted it to a juvenile detention center rather than risk the stomach ache.)
